【摘要】:Inadequatesettingordryingofsheetfedinks,orboth,cancauseblockingofstackedprintswithsubsequentlossofproduct.x201C;Settingx201D;ofaninkreferstotherapidriseinviscosityoftheprintedinkfilm,sometimesaccompaniedbysurfacedrying,thatpreventstransferenceoftheundriedinkfilmtoadjacentsurfacesunderlightpressure.x201C;Settingx201D;isapropertyoftheink-substratecombination.Inadequatedryingmaybeduetoseveralfactors,buttheprimarycausesare:(1)omissionofmetallicdriersfromtheink,improperinkformulation(2)unusualink-substrateinteractions,and(3)useofafountainsolutionthatistooacidic.Ifthetestprintsaremadeonastandardlaboratoryproofpress,wherethereisnoapplicationoffountainsolution,thenonlythefirstthreepossiblecausescanbeevaluated.Iftheprintshavebeenmadeonacommercialproductionprintingpressorsomeotheracceptablemeansofintroducingthefountainsolutionintotheinkagreedupon,thentheeffectoffountainsolutioncanbedetermined.Itwilloftenbenecessarytorunseveralteststoisolatethespecificcauseofadryingproblem.Thistestmethodissuitableformostcombinationsofoxidativedryinginksandsubstrates.Becausethistestmethodreliesonavisualassessmentoftheextentofdrying,verylightcolorsandclearvarnishesmaypresentdifficultiesinquantifyingtheextentofdrying.Insuchcases,thesupplierandthecustomershouldagreeuponanalternativemethodofassessingthedryingpropertiesoftheink.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheprocedurefordeterminingthedryingtimeofoxidative-dryingprintinginks(alsoreferredtoas"sheetfedinks")bysqualeneresistanceofprintedinkfilms.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletoallpasteinksthatdryprimarilybyoxidationregardlessofthesubstrateonwhichtheyareprinted.Withappropriatechangesinthetestfluid,itmayalsobeusedwithpasteinksthatdrybyothermechanisms,suchasheatsetorultravioletlight.1.3Thistestmethodutilizesamodifiedrubtesterandisintendedtoserveasa"referee"procedurewhenlaboratories,usinglessrigoroustestprocedures(seeAppendixX1),cannotagreeontheirresults.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
