【摘要】:Thisguideestablishesthenationalstandardfortrainingtheemergencymedicaltechnician(paramedic).Thisguideshallbeusedbythosewhodevelopthetrainingcurriculumtobeusedtotraintheemergencymedicaltechnician(paramedic).Everypersonwhoisidentifiedasanemergencymedicaltechnician(paramedic)shallhavebeentrainedtothisguide.Itisunderstoodthatthescopeofthemedicalpracticeisconstantlyevolving.Therefore,thisguidedoesnotcontainrecommendationsforthemanagementofillnessesandinjuries.Furthermore,itisnotintendedtosupersedetheprotocolsandstandingordersofthesystemmedicaldirectorortheon-linemedicalphysician(seePracticeF1149).Thisguidedoesnotstandardizethescopeofpracticeoftheemergencymedicaltechnician(paramedic).1.1Thisguidecoversthetrainingstandardfortheemergencymedicaltechnician(paramedic)todealwithemergencies.Primarycareandwilderness/delayed/prolongedcontexttrainingfortheemergencymedicaltechnician(paramedic)isnotwithinthescopeofthisguide,butmaybedealtwithinotherASTMstandards.1.2Thisguideidentifiestheknowledgeandskillsthatallprogramsthattraintheemergencymedicaltechnician(paramedic)shouldincludeintheirtrainingprogram.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
