【摘要】:Viscosityattheshearrateandtemperatureofthistestmethodisthoughttobeparticularlyrepresentativeofbearingconditionsinlargemediumspeedreciprocatingenginesaswellasautomotiveandheavydutyenginesoperatinginthistemperatureregime.Theimportanceofviscosityundertheseconditionshasbeenstressedinrailroadspecifications.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthelaboratorydeterminationoftheviscosityofengineoilsat100x00B0;Cand1x00B7;106sx2013;1usingtheTaperedBearingSimulator(TBS)viscometer.Note18212;ThistestmethodissimilartoTestMethodD4683whichusesthesameTBSviscometertomeasurehighshearviscosityat150x00B0;C.1.2TheNewtoniancalibrationoilsusedtoestablishthistestmethodrangefromapproximately5to12mPax00B7;s(cP)at100x00B0;Candeitherthemanualorautomatedprotocolwasusedbyeachparticipantindevelopingtheprecisionstatement.Theviscosityrangeofthetestmethodatthistemperatureisfrom1mPax00B7;s(cP)toabove25mPax00B7;s(cP),dependingonthemodelofTBS.1.3Thenon-Newtonianreferenceoilusedtoestablishtheshearrateof1x00B7;106sx2013;1forthistestmethodhasaviscosityofapproximately10mPax00B7;sat100x00B0;C.1.4Applicationtopetroleumproductsotherthanengineoilhasnotbeendeterminedinpreparingtheviscometricinformationforthistestmethod.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.ThistestmethodusesthemilliPascalsecond(mPax00B7;s)astheunitofviscosity.ThisunitisequivalenttothecentiPoise(cP),whichisshowninparentheses.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesandtodeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
